I'm a believer! The Texas touchdown on the option play where Young's knee was clearly on the ground doesn't even change my view on the game because I'm conVINCEd he would have scored on the next play had the ref called him down. What a performance!

I am not a Young hater. I, as well as the largest percent of voters in the history, just recognize what Bush did this year. That is what made it so strange to see him not even get 20 touches. I know White was on fire, but you ahve to be creative and get your playmakers the ball.

That being said VY lived up to the billing. Either he made USC's D look like a bunch of little girls, or the D was replaced by cheerleaders in shoulder pads right before kickoff.

I did find it strange that everyone who participated in the game was the greatest ever (or at least that is what Dan Fouts thought). I wonder if Pete is still the greatest coach ever. Maybe we should say that he is the greatest coach ever on 1st thru 3rd down?

Anyways, hook 'em horns? Wow that was kind of strange. I guess it is better than if USC had won: "I'll have a tall White Chocolate Mocha Frappuccino!"

While the older and far wiser of the two Pixleys has already said (as usual) most of anything I could think of, there are a few points that I would still like to highlight. First off, contrary to what USC and the west coast media would like you to believe Paul, that WAS the Trojan defense on the field Wednesday night. That's the same Trojan defense that's graced So Cal televisions all year long, but with names like Reggie Bush and Matt Leinart taking all the publicity folks outside the greater Los Angeles area rarely ever hear about the pathetic defense that is all too typical of they joke of a conference they play in. You wanna know the secret to winning the Pac-10 championship Paul? In 5 years of living hear I've figured out it's real simple: have the best offense, cuz nobody has a defense. All we heard in the weeks leading up to the final BCS standings was Oregon this and Oregon that, Oregon is going to be this year's Auburn. Give me a break, Oregon got beat by arguably the most pathetic Oklahoma team in the past decade or longer. Though I can't stand Oklahoma, I was almost as happy to see that outcome than any other game this year just to hightlight my following point. Number two, as long as USC has a decent offense they will win a BCS bid. The way the "system" is set up to give a spot to the winner of each conference the Pac-10 will continue to win that undeserved slot each year. Do they deserve it? You be the judge... of the five Pac-10 teams that went to a bowl this year, three of them won. Granted, they were victories against perennial powerhouses like Rutgers, BYU, and Northwestern. Congrats, I think COC (my community college) might be playing in the sun bowl next year.

Going back to the Rose Bowl, if you noticed when Texas won it was because of Vince Young, no doubt, but when Texas was in total control of the game was when they settled down and played UT defense, the likes of which USC hadn't even tasted all year. If you want to beat a Pac-10 team, including USC, all you have to do is hit them. Hit them in the mouth, put them on the ground, and knock around their psyche a little till they realize they're overmatched, and they'll crumble. Not only did Vince Young score twice in 6 minutes to win they game, after the failed 4th and 2 USC was so razzled he almost could've walked in on that 4th and 5. My uncle hit the nail on the head when he said that VY made a statement to the nation that voters "might've picked the wrong cat for the Heisman." It's real simple, Reggie Bush proved that he CAN be stopped, Vince Young can't and wasn't. As Vince said last night on Jay Leno when asked if he was disappointed about not winning the Heisman, "I've got the bigger one, the National Championship...and it's going ALL the way back to Austin, Texas!" Thanks for the comments, it's always fun when the good guys win! Hook 'Em Horns!

"Texas made some big plays and we couldn't really tackle Vince Young there at the end...I think we had the game won and we just made some mistakes...I still think we're a better football team" - USC QB Matt Leinart seconds after the game.

"Obviously that extra year in college didn't do him much good, it's called LOGIC...they came in and beat you, it's real simple" - Tyler Groff
